Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy and managing your personal information responsibly, transparently and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how we keep it secure, and the choices and rights you have in relation to your information.
1. Who we are
Money Muster Pty Ltd A.B.N. 64 654 461 882 (“Money Muster”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides a financial education platform including superannuation fee calculators, superannuation performance comparison tools and data, cashflow tool, age pension calculator, superannuation learning masterclasses and publicly available website hyperlinks (the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum amount of personal information needed to provide the Service. At present, this is primarily:
- Your email address — Which we use to create and secure your account, verify your identity, and send you important account-related communications.
- An alias or display name (optional) — You may choose to provide your real name or use an alias anywhere the Service asks for a display name. For the purposes of providing educational content, it does not matter whether you use your real name or an alias.
- Information you choose to enter into our tools — The figures entered into the superannuation fee calculators, first home super saver scheme calculator, age pension calculator, or other calculators. These figures are used only to generate your results. The exception is the cashflow tool, where the data you enter is stored securely so the tool can operate properly. You can permanently delete your cashflow tool data at any stage.
- Account, subscription and billing information — If you purchase a paid subscription, your payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect, store or have access to your full credit or debit card number, card verification code/CVC, or complete payment credentials.Stripe processes your payment information and provides us with limited information needed to manage your account, subscription and billing relationship. This may include your name, email address, customer ID, subscription plan, subscription status, renewal or cancellation status, invoice history, payment status, transaction amount, transaction date, currency, and limited payment method details such as the card brand, expiry month and year, and the last four digits of the card.We use this information to activate and manage paid subscriptions, issue receipts, confirm payment status, manage renewals, cancellations and failed payments, respond to billing enquiries, and maintain accurate business and tax records.Stripe may process and store payment and billing information in accordance with its own legal obligations, security standards and privacy practices. You should review Stripe’s privacy policy for more information about how Stripe handles personal information.We do not use your payment card details for any purpose other than facilitating payment through Stripe, and we do not sell or trade your billing information.
- Correspondence — Information you send us, such as support requests, feedback or messages, so we can respond to you.
- Limited technical information — information generated when you use the Service, such as login timestamps and basic device or browser information. We use this information to help keep the Service secure, reliable and working properly.
We do not currently request or require other identifying information such as your date of birth, address, tax file number or government identifiers to use the Service.
3. How we collect information
We collect personal information directly from you — for example, when you create an account, sign in, use a calculator or tool, save information, contact our support team, or submit feedback through the Service. We do not collect personal information about you from other third parties except where a service provider (described below) passes on information as part of operating the Service, such as our authentication and payment providers confirming your account or subscription status.
4. Why we collect, hold and use your information
We collect and use your personal information to:
- create, authenticate and secure your Money Muster account;
- provide, operate and personalise the Service, including saving and retrieving calculations, preferences and progress you choose to store;
- process subscriptions and payments, and manage your billing status;
- respond to support requests, feedback and other communications you send us;
- send you essential account and service-related notifications (such as confirming a sign-up, a password change, or a change to your email address);
- maintain the security, integrity and proper functioning of the Service, including detecting and preventing fraud or misuse; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
5. We do not sell or trade your information
Money Muster does not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party, for any purpose, at any time. We do not monetise your data through advertising networks or data brokers. Any sharing of information described in this Policy is limited to what is reasonably necessary to provide the Service to you, as set out in the section below.
6. Who we share information with
To operate the Service, we use a small number of trusted service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contractual obligations to protect it and only use it for the purposes we specify.
These providers may store or process information outside Australia as part of their infrastructure. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider is subject to privacy protections consistent with the APPs before we disclose information to them.
We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law. Other than as described in this section, we do not share your personal information with third parties.
7. Direct marketing
We do not use your personal information for direct marketing by unrelated third parties. If we ever send you marketing communications about Money Muster’s own features or updates, we will only do so in accordance with applicable law, and you will always be able to opt out or unsubscribe at any time.
8. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes using encrypted connections, industry-standard authentication practices, and restricting access to personal information to what is needed to operate the Service. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. Accessing and correcting your information
You can access and update most of your account information (including your email address and display name or alias) directly within your account settings. If you would like a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or believe any information we hold is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete, you can contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
10. Deleting your information
You may request that we delete your account and associated personal information at any time by contacting us or subscribed and logged in users can send us a message on the Money Muster platform. We will action your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
11. Complaints and how to contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to make a privacy-related complaint, please use the publicly available Contact Us form on the website. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it promptly and fairly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
As Money Muster grows and the Service evolves, we may need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page along with an updated version number and effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we handle your personal information.
